How'd You Like to Meet An A-lister?

Well, Wavers - this is exciting. The Silver Screenwriting Competition has just added something, or rather, someone to the grand prize. An Academy Award nominated screenwriter of one of the most critically acclaimed feature films of the past three years will be having lunch with our winner. Due to contractual obligations I cannot reveal his name at this moment in time. We have to respect his wishes but believe me, I am in 7th heaven, I can't believe this writer is making himself available. I will chaperone the luncheon and I'm completely awe-struck at the thought.

Our deadline is July 3rd so get those scripts in ASAP. Because we are a baby competition, the odds are quite good this year.

I'm jealous too! I have a bit more work to do as well.

Soon this contest will be all grown up and a member of the coolest kids on the block.

Congrats on the coup Julie!

Good, but what is the person's genre specific. Give us a hint what the person likes to write. And what year did the person win that Academy Award. Maybe give us a range of years.
I know, too many question, but I have a "historical" script that takes place in Kenya. Just getting ready. My script is a tough sell but I'm trying everywhere.

Is it the director of "Ghandi"?

This is a screenwriter who was nominated for a drama with the past two years. But really, lunch with an Academy Award nominated screenwriter who is busy working today, who wrote (actually 3)critically acclaimed movie(s) - that is a treat in and of itself regardless of what genre you are writing personally. It's about his experience as a working writer, no?

Anonymous, I know who the screenwriter is, but let's be clear, he didn't win an Academy Award (yet) but he was nominated (which Julie stated), and it was for one of the most critically acclaimed films of the past several years. As Julie pointed out, just the idea of sitting down witn A-list scribe over lunch and picking his brains...hell, to me that's a great deal.
